GÖRDES META NICKEL COBALT FACILITY

Our facility in Gördes, Manisa, which is among the top 10 facilities in the world with its technology and process management, is the first specialized operation established to develop nickel-cobalt resources in Turkey.

Our facility in Gördes, Manisa, which is among the top 10 facilities in the world with its technology and process management, is the first specialized operation established to develop nickel-cobalt resources in Turkey. Our facility consists of 4 main sections; "Nickel Open Pit Quarry", "Limestone Quarry", "High Pressure Leaching Facility" and "Auxiliary Facilities".

Gördes facility, in which Zorlu Holding has invested 360 million dollars for the first phase, will have a total investment of 860 million dollars with the second phase covering 2015-2023, reaching 20 thousand tons of nickel metal capacity.

With 300 thousand tons (nickel metal content) proven reserves, our company started experimental production in the last quarter of 2014 and kicked off commercial production and realized the first exports in 2016. In the near future, thanks to the technology we develop and the increase in productivity, our facility will work with higher capacity.

Our company, which further develops its operations extending from mining to minerals with advanced material technologies, continues to work to make nickel mining in Turkey an innovative business area that creates high added value by increasing the added value of its products with the transition from mineral to metal form.

Our company has research projects in different regions as well as nickel cobalt investment projects in Gördes, Eskişehir and Usak. While we have completed the first phase of our investment in Gördes and are operational, we are working on reserve development and ore production in Eskişehir and geological studies in Uşak.

While our R&D work in the area of scandium and rare earth minerals continues, we are pursuing our work to evaluate the different soil elements, primarily iron, on the sites where we have licenses.
