Nickel and Cobalt

Nickel and cobalt are the metals which have fairly extensive areas of usage, today.

Nickel and cobalt minerals which are typically found separately in nature can also be present together in oxide nickel ores, also called laterites. In some hydrometallurgical processes, nickel and cobalt can be recovered together to the end product, whereas in pyrometallurgical processes (RKEF FeNi production), it is not possible to recover cobalt to the end product.
