Established in 2000, Meta Mining took a significant step in its story that would become a source of pride for Turkey on the global stage since 2007. Joining Zorlu Holding, one of Turkey's oldest, most innovative, and visionary groups, the company continues its operations today under the name Meta Nickel Cobalt Mining Industry and Trade Inc.As one of the five main business areas of Zorlu Holding, the Mining and Metallurgy Group, which is a pioneer in 'firsts' in Turkey, successfully brings Zorlu Holding's vision to its own field. Today, our company contributes nickel and cobalt, defined as the 'raw materials of the future,' to the Turkish economy in different forms and with high added value. In doing so, the company remains true to the core values of Zorlu Holding, including 'innovation,' 'sustainability,' and 'environmental sensitivity.' This approach, combined with innovative technology in production, gives us the distinction of being the only one in the northern hemisphere.With this research and development-based new generation mining, we take pride in being among the top 10 facilities in the world. HPAL
The HPAL (High-Pressure Acid Leaching) process is a state-of-the-art technology applied for the selective dissolution of nickel and cobalt in a titanium alloy autoclave reactor under the conditions of 255°C temperature and 46 bars pressure.
MHP
The solution enriched with dissolved nickel and cobalt elements in the HPAL process is gradually purified by adjusting the pH profile to remove impurities. It is then transferred to the MHP unit.
Nikel
Nickel, a bright silver-colored metal with a highly tough but brittle structure, has played a significant role throughout human history.
Kobalt
Cobalt, found in the Earth's crust at a rate of 0.001%, is obtained as a byproduct from ores such as iron, nickel, copper, zinc, and manganese.
It has earned the R&D Center Certificate. Vestel Electronics has acquired a 50% stake in Meta Nickel Cobalt Mining.
As of August 2016, Meta Nickel has become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zorlu Holding, holding a 100% stake.
It has completed its first export.
The Gördəs Facility has been fully installed, and trial production has commenced following the commissioning efforts of the HPAL process.
The Gördəs project investments have been initiated.
