As Meta Nickel Cobalt, we bear the responsibility of a deep-rooted legacy in mining that dates back to around 5000 B.C. We transform this legacy into a value that our country needs for its development and future goals as an industry that creates added value through R&D and innovation.

Our nickel-cobalt facility in Gördes, where we have established and plan to invest a total of 860 million dollars by 2023, is the most tangible example of our new generation mining approach. The Gördes mining area, due to the lack of sufficient knowledge in our country in the past, is endowed with a production process that will set an example to the world by importing nickel and cobalt. The driving force behind this production process, carried out without compromising contributions to the environment, is the belief in R&D, technology, and innovation. While increasing our own R&D efforts, we also integrate specialized institutions and organizations, especially universities, into our family. We continue collaborations with TÜBİTAK-supported R&D projects, Middle East Technical University, Hacettepe University, and Istanbul University. Our goal is to establish a future R&D hub for new-generation mining in Turkey with this extensive family.

With the industrialist and investor identity of Zorlu Holding, we expand our goals in the field of mining every day with the strength provided by the most important elements of our DNA, such as R&D and innovation. In the upcoming period, we aim to develop our production capabilities gained in concentrated nickel production towards high-value forms, including the production of rare elements, alongside nickel and cobalt.
